On diversity, vulnerability, and inner strength

Von Farben und Narben

  • Age: 14+

  • Duration: 55 minutes

  • Performer: 4

  • Stage: indoor

Irene K. - Two performers from Compagnie Irene K in red dresses share the stage; one is upside down with raised legs and a mask, while the other stands, holding a mask and lifting her dress. The scene, rich in Masken, unfolds in a dark setting—zeitgenössischer Tanz at its finest.

A rainbow: a variety of colors just like ourselves,
showing a range of tenderness up to addictive dominance.
A scar: a space through which a body experiences the path to healing.

Are our memories shaking.
Do we feel safe and relaxed.
Do we need to protect ourselves.

Our personality contains this diversity
of light and darkness.
The choreography uses masks and their different colors to visualize this interplay in more detail.

In her production, Irene Kalbusch explores the diversity and complexity of our personalities—a call for acceptance and tolerance.
