Olga Blank is an independent performer, puppeteer, and choreographer. Born in Kazakhstan in 1989, she has lived in Germany since 1993. She studied choreography at the arts universities CODARTS (Rotterdam) and FONTYS (Tilburg), earning her master’s degree in 2023. In 2017, she completed the “Creating Dance in Art and Education” advanced training program at the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK) and attended various dance and puppetry masterclasses led by artists such as Neville Tranter, Duda Paiva, and Felix Berner. As a performer, she has collaborated with companies including Figurentheater Fithe, Compound Company, Theater Aachen, Duda Paiva Company, waltraud900, and Theater GrueneSosse, and has performed at festivals in Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, England, and France.
Olga Blank has created choreography for the Schrit_tmacher GENERATION2 festival, Landesbühne Nord in Wilhelmshaven, and Theater Rosenfisch, among others. She created “Tales in the Dark”—a dance-theater piece featuring life-sized puppets—in collaboration with young people; this production won the City of Bochum’s Fritz Wortelmann Prize in 2021 and was invited to the fiGUMA festival in East Belgium.
